Beach Access
Walkable Access
There is a beach access point in our neighborhood 0.2 mi from our house. Head west along Sarkisian Drive, walk up the hill, turn right and the access point is on the left.
There is a flat walkway leading to a viewpoint bench and from there a staircase leading down to the beach.
Tide Pools
Exposed during minus tides, these tide pools have a wide array of sea life- starfish, crabs, anemones, fish, seagulls, etc.
Head north on highway 101 for 1.7 miles and turn left onto Quail Street. At the end of Quail Street there are a few parking spots to the left along the trees. From there there is a beach access trail down to the rocks. Note: this tide pool area is also walkable from our neighborhood beach access point if a 4 mile roundtrip walk is doable for you!
Driftwood State Park
Head north on highway 101 for 0.3 mi and the state park is on the left. This is a day-use beach access point which has parking and restrooms. This park is nice if you have coolers and gear that can't go down the staircase in our neighborhood.
Waldport- Alsea Bay
Drive south on highway 101 2.5 miles into Waldport and turn right onto NW Hemlock St. Along the bayfront there will be a large parking lot with a beach access point in the middle. This area is great for day use and has the perk of being right next to cute shops and restaurants!
